When Ebony Muzyk and her partner Dan Wood decided to buy a block of land in Exmouth, more than 1,200 kilometres from Perth, they were anticipating the likelihood of needing to compromise when it came to the kind of home they wanted to build.
To her delight, Ebony was to discover that choosing to live in remote and regional WA did NOT mean settling for second best when it came to the quality of house they could expect.
Modular sea change
“After holidaying in Exmouth last year, we returned home with the holiday blues and instead of booking another holiday, we bought a block of land,” says Ebony.
“We knew the remote location would have its challenges so rather than stick to the traditional on-site build, we decided to explore other options and discovered modular transportable homes.
“We loved the ability to completely customise our home, didn’t feel pressured to sign a contract and not only did the house tick all the boxes for building in a cyclone region, but it still felt like a home.”
Modular - surprisingly modern!
In fact, it took a bit of convincing when it came to talking to family and friends who, it seems, had a slightly misguided view of what a modern, modular home would actually look like.
“When we told our family and friends our house was being built in Perth and trucked up to Exmouth, they were not expecting it to look or feel like a ‘normal’ house'”, explained Ebony.
“But unless you’d actually seen the house sitting on the back of a truck, you really would have no idea that it was built in modules somewhere else.
Country people deserve quality homes
The experience of Ebony and her family brings a deep sense of pride to Nathan Hollis, Group Sales and Business Development Manager at TR Homes.
“Ebony’s experience is absolutely the reason TR exists to serve people in regional and remote WA,” said Nathan.
“So often, we hear country people being effectively told that their decision to live in a regional or remote location means they can’t expect the same quality in a house as they’d expect if they lived in the city.
“That is absolutely NOT the case anymore with TR Homes able to build country people a home with the same features and finishes you’d expect from a house built in suburban Perth.
“The fact is that you can get the home you deserve at a competitive price no matter where you live in WA, and we are happy to work with our clients to understand their specific desires and make sure we create a house that suits their needs and lifestyle.”
