The Granny Flat has come a long way from the eyesore in the backyard. Thoughtful design, and a well-constructed and positioned home can provide attractive extra living space, privacy and even rental income.
A Granny Flat, or ancillary dwelling if you are looking at the official building R-Codes, has had the rules relaxed to allow the creation of rental income outside of the immediate family (hence the Granny Flat nickname) or create more space outside of the family home for a retreat or home office. TR Homes has two ranges - the Perth Metro site built, which means that we come to your backyard and construct the home there, or for clients further afield, we construct the home in one of our manufacturing yards and deliver it to your location. These both have the same construction methods and materials as our larger homes.
While there is cross over with some of our larger 2 and 3 bed Granny Flats and our smaller 2 and 3 bed homes from The Sanctuary Range, R-Codes legislation means that for most, the maximum size of an ancillary dwelling (ie not the main property on the land), is 70sqm. Some Shire Councils have more relaxed rules as to the size, as there may be larger block sizes than in metro areas. You will need to check this with your own Council or Shire.
Then you can browse through our two ranges below - either Perth Metro or Regional/Rural location. Or call us on 6365 5795 and one of our knowledgeable Sales Consultants can guide you to the best options for your location, requirements and budget.
