The TR Homes '3G' is a clever, unique design that can be utilised for multiple purposes from a multi-generational family home to an investment property. (The 3G is known as the Mirage in the Northern Territory.) The 3G’s intelligent four-bedroom, three-bathroom design divides the home in two, with a separate entrance, ensuite and living space for Bedroom 1. You can upgrade with a kitchenette and laundry to create a fully self-contained unit under the one roof - which is just what the Guiss's did.
Nestled in Western Australia's enviable Margaret River region, the Guiss's TR Homes 3G design offers a unique investment opportunity: dual rental income from the one property.
We chat with one of the owners, Joanna Guiss, about her decision behind choosing the 3G.
You decided on the TR Homes 3G design, can you tell us why you chose this?
We chose the 3G design for investment purposes as we wanted to be able to get a dual income from the one property.
What is one advantage of building a modular pre-fab home?
The advantage of building a modular pre-fab home is the short build time.
Why do you feel that prefab/transportable homes are suited to the Margaret River area?
Margaret River is more of an environmentally conscious area and the pre fab/modular building has a more sustainable building process.
What has been the overall reception to your home and the fact that it is prefab/modular?
Everyone has loved the home. We have had a lot of comments from people in the area who really like the design and the finishing on the house. People are impressed with the dual living option.
Would you recommend TR Homes to other families in Margaret River? Why?
Yes I would recommend TR to other families as we have been happy with the process and outcome.
Do you have future plans for your 3G or will you continue to use it as an investment property?
We will continue to use the property for investment purposes.
